Arts and Crafts Club

Arts and Crafts Club is on hold for the 25/26 School Year. This club will resume for the 26/27 School Year. 

Open to grades 6, 7, and 8 all year.

Meets after school to complete crafting projects approx two times per month between 3:40 PM - 5:00 PM in room 201. Sign up and pay for supplies via Pushcoin.

Band, Choir, Orchestra

Open to grades 6, 7, and 8 during daytime classes.

Students can be in both Choir and Band or Choir and Orchestra simultaneously.

Battle of the Books (BOB)

Open to grades 6, 7, and 8 starting in January 2026.

A reading competition club We read books then compete against other middle schools in D300 with book trivia. Meets about once per week as a team to practice trivia and talk about our books.  Competitions begin in April.

Beta Club

Open to grades 7 and 8 all year. Grade 6 will join during the second semester.

A service organization (volunteerism) joined through invitation for honor students (A/B students). 6th graders generally invited in the second semester. Meets after school for various meetings from 3:40PM - 5:00PM.

Drama Club

Open to grades 6, 7, and 8 all year.

Generally meets two times per month before school on Friday mornings between 8:00AM - 8:30AM in room 215.

Homework Club

Open to grades 6, 7, and 8 all year.

Students work quietly to complete their homework or get themselves organized. This takes place in room 224. It is on Tuesdays at 3:45 to 5pm and Thursdays at 7:45-8:45am.

History Club

Open to grades 6, 7, and 8 all year.

The History Club will be meeting the first and third Wednesday of each month in room 211 from 3:45-4:45pm.  

Jazz Band

Open all year.

Audition group. Rehearses before school. Guitar, bass, and piano players DO NOT have to be enrolled in Band to join.

Newspaper Club/Paws Press

Open to grades 6, 7, and 8 all year.

Newspaper Club is not just for news, but offers the opportunity for artists, comic strip creators, poets, and creative writers to share their work. Newspaper Club meets Mondays after school from 3:45 - 5:00pm in Mrs. Sturwold's Room 107. Please have rides here at 5:00.

Soccer Club

Open to grades 6, 7 and 8 from September through 3rd week in November. 

Expect to scrimmage against one another and learn fundamental soccer skills! Please bring cleats, shin guards, and athletic wear. We will meet on the field behind HMS.
